How It Started
If you have the desire to make a difference - you're a lot like our founders. It all started in early 2002 with a group of twenty-five Mongolian and American students who wanted to know:
- How can I "change the world"?
- What do I have to learn from a: Mongolian or American?
That summer, ten Americans traveled to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to be part of a workshop with fifteen Mongolians that would address these questions. Their primary goal was to develop projects that would benefit Mongolian communities, but also to learn from each other how to work better together to change their world.
What They Discovered
Of course they developed friendships, but they also discovered that while each of them were unique and their problems were different - there were processes of community organizing that were universal to people as different as Mongolians and Americans. These processes changed their perspective on the world - and helped them to learn not only a very special process of organizing, but also how working together across cultures was a way to design and create better projects to change their communities.
We've Got to Share This!
The group learned so much from the experience that they formed our organization: Global Partnerships for Activism & Cross-cultural Training (Global PACT).
This International Training, and our other programs, are dedicated to helping you to learn what our founders did - how develop and implement projects across cultures that benefit communities around the world.
That excitement and inspiration has grown Global PACT across four continents and thousands of people. Why not join us to discover what they did? It just might change the way you see the world and your role in it!
