Overview of the Activism Experiences Program

The Global PACT Activism Experiences program is designed to give participants an understanding of how NGO's (non-governmental organizations) function and how it is possible to make lasting change. Global PACT is pleased to announce our first Activism Experience program in association with the Monteverde Institute (MVI), a Costa Rican non-profit association dedicated to advancing knowledge and practice on the sustainable management of resources through education, applied research and community engagement. The program will take place in early January of 2009.

A Closer Look

Monteverde

The Activist Experiences Program is an alternative to the typical college break. It is an opportunity to visit a beautiful location and meet with activists who work to preserve the environment from development. Instead of traveling to Costa Rica as a tourist, participants will witness its real beauty and understand how individuals can dedicate their lives to a certain cause they believe in. In early January, a group of university students will travel to Monteverde Institute in the cloud forests and be immersed in the local community. Learn more about the Costa Rica program
