Center for Children's Happiness
CCH was founded by Mech Sokha, a Khmer Rouge orphan, as an orphanage for children from the Phnom Penh city dump. Today, CCH is home to more than 100 children and is a lively learning community, too. The children are all in school during the day and after school they return to CCH for an additional three hours of programs. Most important among these are Khmer traditional dance and music, since Sokha is determined that his children will help to refound Khmer culture in the wasteland the Khmer Rouge left. Global PACT Cambodia will not only run summer trainings for American and Japanese students, but will run Global PACT trainings in Khmer for Cambodian children and adults during the year.

DEPDC
One of our partners in Thailand is Development and Education Program for Daughters and Communities or DEPDC. Their Mekong Youth Net trains young leaders from Yunnan Province, China, Cambodia, Myanmar (Burma), Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. When done with the one-year program, these youth leaders return to their countries to create grassroots organizations and build a regional network against human trafficking. Working with DEPDC, we will educate potential leaders on how to start a prevention program at the community level in their own countries.

International Christian University of Japan
ICU, Japan’s sole bilingual, liberal arts institution, has been a Consortium member since 2006. It sends students on Global PACT programs annually. ICU Global PACT alumni are currently working to build a Global PACT Japan at ICU.

Lafayette College
Founded in 1826, Lafayette College is a small, coeducational, liberal arts college that combines rigorous programs in the liberal arts and engineering and an absolute dedication to the highest standards in teaching. A very large number of Lafayette students study abroad at some point in their time at college. Given Lafayette's long-standing commitment to interdisciplinary and experiential education, Global PACT is a natural partner. Lafayette has taken the lead in developing the Global PACT 2009 program in Chile and will also contribute to the further development of the program in Southeast Asia.

Mae Jadee Witayakhom School
Mae Jadee Witayakhom School in Mae Kachan, Thailand, is our newest partner. It is a regional high school with some 50 boarding students and is reputed to be the best high school in northern Thailand. Mae Jadee Witayakhom will host the 2008 Global PACT Thailand training and will also develop a Thai language training program for use in the area during the year.

Northeastern University
Founded in 1898, Northeastern University is a private research university located in the heart of Boston, and a leader in interdisciplinary research, urban engagement, and the integration of classroom learning with real-world experience. Northeastern's signature cooperative education program, one of the largest and most innovative in the world, is ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. A full member of the Global PACT Consortium since 2005, Northeastern University sends both faculty and staff abroad on summer programs. Northeastern has a large and capable corps of Global PACT trainers who plan and execute local trainings in the Boston area.

Push LAB
Founded by two original members of the 2004 Global PACT Croatia team and two Global PACT Croatia alumni, Push LAB is an NGO dedicated to gathering, educating and motivating citizens of all ages to shape the society to which they belong. Push LAB organized the Global PACT All-Balkans program in Zagreb in 2007 and are planning the 2008 All-Balkans training in Vukovar.

Rhodes University
Our host and strong partner in Global PACT South Africa is Rhodes University, a fine liberal-arts institution located in Grahamstown.  Annually, Rhodes supports the involvement of leaders from their own student body, as well as promising youth from nearby Joza Township. Today, Rhodes alumni of previous Global PACT trainings are part of the Global PACT South Africa training staff. 

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey
With more than 50,000 students on campuses in Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick, Rutgers is one of the nation’s major public institutions of higher education. Chartered in 1766, Rutgers has a unique history as a colonial college, a land-grant institution, and a state university. The university’s 27 degree-granting units offer majors in more than 100 fields, with thousands of courses covering the full range of human experience. Global PACT contributes importantly to Rutgers' ability to live up to its boast: "Jersey Roots, Global Reach"!

Sjeme Non-Governmental Organization and Zagreb School of Economics & Management
Our fourth year in Croatia was highlighted by a partnership with the NGO Sjeme in partnership with the Zagreb School of Economics and Management and the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Zagreb. Headed by several Global PACT alums who collaborated on the original Global PACT Croatia in 2004, we are excited to begin our fourth year bringing students from across the Balkans to work on community rebuilding. 

Warm Heart Foundation
Warm Heart is a community development NGO in Phrao District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. It is dedicated to raising the standard of living of entire communities and so to ending the degrading poverty of the people of Phrao and all that results from it including stunted childhoods, addictions, prostitution and the loss of indigenous cultures. Warm Heart will be the new home of Global PACT Thailand and headquarters for Global PACT's Southeast Asian operations.

A founding partner of Global PACT, Women for Social Progress (WSP) is a Mongolian advocacy, oversight and public education organization concerned with the issues of democratic governance and gender equity. WSP is nongovernmental, non-partisan and non-profit. This English-language site has an informational character. It highlights the projects undertaken by the organization and the educational centers it maintains.

Zoon PolitikoN
Our partner in Global PACT Croatia 2004, 2005 and 2006, Zoon PolitikoN is a local student NGO which runs domestic trainings across Croatia. In addition to organizing the Croatian end of the All-Balkan trainings, Zoon PolitikoN won a grant from the U.S. Embassy Democracy Commission to conduct multiple Global PACT trainings at high schools in war-damaged, economically depressed areas. Zoon has also just won a contract from the Croatian Ministry of Education to continue to conduct such trainings as part of the national high school curriculum.
