Dear Mr. Doe,

My name is Sarah Somebody and I am a sophomore studying political science at Rutgers University in NJ. I am writing to tell you about a unique program in which I will take part this summer, as I travel to Croatia with an organization called Global PACT.

Global PACT is an activism training program for youth all around the world, targeted primarily towards college students (approximately ages 18-25). In Global PACT, you will find an organization of citizen-activists that encourages all people, regardless of circumstance, to realize that anyone can take initiative and make a meaningful difference in their own lives, the lives of their friends, and ultimately the entire world.

The Global PACT program takes students from the United States and numerous other European and Asian countries abroad to program sites such as Croatia, Thailand and South Africa to teach them how to mobilize for the betterment of the world. As they learn the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for building a non-governmental organization (NGO) to make meaningful, long-term community change, they learn skills that are transferable any organization building and management endeavor.

I would like to talk with you more about the Global PACT program and how it relates to Amnesty International’s ongoing activities.  I will follow up soon with a call to your office.

Sincerely,

Sarah Somebody
