Feature: Trainings

Global PACT Intensive Trainings, our longest running program, is an interactive workshop-style program that will teach you practical and essential skills for developing and implementing community-development projects anywhere in the world.

Profile: Galela Amanzi Project

The Galela Amanzi Project, or "Pour the Water" has been chosen as Rhodes University student project of the year.  This project, developed at the Global PACT Training in South Africa 2007, addresses the increasing lack of access to water in the Grahamstown townships by harvesting rain in water tanks in neutral and key areas within the townships.

For instance, the Andrew Moyake Primary School is a school of approximately 800 students. Due to increased water shortages and cut offs in the township; the school is finding it difficult to keep school open regularly due to sanitation hazards.  Galela's first project will be to donate a minimum of a 5,000 litre rain water tank to assist with the desperate need for increased access to water.

A Unique Experience: Learning How to Work Together

Global PACT participants come from every continent and more than fifty countries. They range in age from middle school to settled retirees. Their interests run from accounting and anthropology to virology and zoology by way of history, marketing, nursing, and social work, from air conditioning and photography to politics and teaching. All of these backgrounds come together to make a unique foundation for impressive projects.  Our graduates are Rhodes Scholars and Peace Corps volunteers - and normal people making a difference. Our Mission

We believe that strong communities are built through effective education and advocacy by individuals and teams.  We also believe these skills can be learned by anyone.  Therefore, Global PACT is training a network of individuals with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to identify and engage problems in their communities.

We offer practical, hands-on trainings that use real-life challenges to teach personal, project, and organizational development skills.

As a result of our work we envision a world where every individual and community has access to the tools they need to better their families, communities and societies.
